I would like an opinion on a poem I wrote.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Falling, Breaking, Bending, Aching, Pretty for a time, Then crumbles to dust. Stands rigid and straight, But succumbs to the rust. The petals are soft, Maybe just for a day. They fade and they shrivel, And then blow away. Beauty is fleeting; Its strength dry and brittle. Feels good for a moment, But that moment heals little. What follows is worse. A fate many can’t bear. They fight it, deny it; Of course it’s not fair. It never is, you know. And why should it be? All flowers must die; You, her, them, and me.

You won’t be excluded. Just run from it and wait. It may save you for a while, But it’s yourself that you’ll hate. We’re not meant to last. Each petal will fall. It’s dreary and morbid, These things I recall. The days we’re allotted Are fragile and few. Killing one’s spirit to live Becomes the vogue thing to do. So many can’t see That we have to let go. We must learn to accept Flowers fall once they’re grown. There’s no reason to hide. Why are we all so afraid? All we leave behind Is the dirt foundation we’ve laid. It’s simply Falling, Breaking, Bending, and Aching. The pain won’t last very long. There’s a brief, stinging loss and it’s done. And there’ll always be more that come, Just like us, the wilting ones.

Wow. When I get my words back I will comment again. For now, I'm simply speechless.

This is absolutely amazing. You definitely have talent. As an author myself, I can definitely say you have potential. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much. :) No one around my house really cares for my poetry, lol. I'm very glad you liked it. @geneticrockhopper247 @AuthorGuy17

Real nice, reminds me of something I'd come across on tumblr. Iv'e read a few poems in this subject and none of them compare, this is really great. Don't stop writing.
