What tense is the underlined verb in the sentence? Have you ever seen a Venus flytrap? A. past perfect B. present C. present perfect D. past

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone?

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

which one is underlined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have and seen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kidthatbro8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mm i thought it was c or d

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

it's not A because when we want to talk about an action that happened before a past event, we use the past perfect, so we can eliminate A for sure. and it's not B, so you're on track. we use the Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now. the exact time is not important. what do you think based on this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c ? @Kidthatbro8

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

yes, because it says "have you ever -". there is no specific time. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay thanks XD

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

no problem! you basically figured it out, all you needed was to have the meanings (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but can u help me with some more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kidthatbro8

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

sure! could you post them somewhere else, though? i have a tough time keeping track of these.
