Just kind of need a few bullet points that I can fit into my essay. Stuck about how the government has been shaped in the past 200 years. Explain how the six basic principles embodied in the U.S. Constitution have allowed the U.S. Constitution to continue to provide the framework for our government for over two hundred years..

OpenStudy (surana):

Six basic principles are roughly, life, liberty, right to choose own fate, equality, democracy and justice. I think. Thoughts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know what the 6 basic principals are. I'm just having to describe how they have come into play over the last 200 years to build our government to be what it has become @Surana

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay.

OpenStudy (surana):

Life: Ability for a person to experience living. Liberty: Freedom from oppression, slavery, and fear. Right to choose own fate: Personal decisions cannot be made by the government, people have the right to choose themselves. Equality: Each person has the same rights and abilities as the next person, important part of US history. Justice: Right to trial/jury/appeals. Important in the US law system.

OpenStudy (surana):

Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah a little

OpenStudy (surana):

Do you need more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I'm looking more towards how the government has grown.

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay...

OpenStudy (surana):

So, something along the lines of "the government has adapted it's policies over the years", which would mean something like, Equality went from "equality for man" to equality for man and woman to equality for all humanity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Something along that line and also to finish this sentence: Over the past two hundred years, these six basic principals have shaped our government by

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay...I can probably do that. Hang on.

OpenStudy (surana):

Over the past two hundred years, these six basic principals have shaped our government by influencing the country's many policies. For example, equality is something that is very important to this country, in the past, equality meant that all caucasian men were considered equal, and as time passed, this eventually became all caucasian men and woman. After the Civil rights movement, this was extended to all those in America's borders.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for your help!! :)

OpenStudy (surana):

You're welcome, anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope that's it

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay.
