I weirdly ended up with 7 but thats a whole number not a fraction

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

who said x has to be a fraction? you have to crossmultiply and solve the equation

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

This is a proportion...so we will cross multiply 1/7 = 3/4x - 1 (7)(3) = (1)(4x - 1) 21 = 4x - 1 --- add 1 22 = 4x 22/4 = x reduces to 11/4 questions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did cross multipy. My brother checked it two he's a 9th grader and said he doesn't know what i did wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait so 11/4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just gonna give up and put 7/1 xD

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oops...11/2

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

the answer could be a fraction but it colud also be a whole number but in this case it is a fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):
