What is the best reason to use the first-person point of view? It helps the reader empathize with the narrator because the reader more fully understands the narrator. It helps the author convey the full scope of the storyline since the narrator is aware of everything that happens in the story. It helps the reader grasp background information because the reader knows that if the narrator is communicating information, it must be important. It gives the author an opportunity to communicate the first-person narrator's faults and foibles to the reader.
