Dependent variable = The variable that is MEASURED.

What we change is the number of cans recycled right? Because as a result of a CHANGE in the number of cans, there will be a difference in the money earned which is what we're measuring.

Thus, we are changing the number of cans ( independent variable) and we are measuring the amount of money he is earning for the number of cans he recycles (dependent variable).
