PLEASE HELP! Easy, and I give medals and fan Calvin's plane is flying at a speed of 600 miles per hour. If y represents the distance the plane has traveled and z represents the time it has spent traveling, which of the following equations shows the relationship between y and z? y = 600 + z z = 600 + y z = 600y y = 600z
distance = speed * time y = 600z
Thanks! I learned that in the lesson, guess I needed a re-fresh
do u have more questions related to it?
Yeah, like this one: Alexander can earn money for the cans he recycles. Which of the following statements describes the variables in this situation correctly? The number of cans recycled is the independent variable because it affects the amount of money earned. The number of cans recycled is the dependent variable because it affects the amount of money earned. The amount of money earned is the independent variable because it affects the number of cans recycled. The amount of money earned is the dependent variable because it affects the number of cans recycled
what do u think which one is correct?
the amount of money he will earn is related to no of cans recycled .so which one u think is correct ?
no of cans = number of cans
To me it's either the first one or second one
note: Independent variable = The variable that we CHANGE Dependent variable = The variable that is MEASURED. Therefore since "Alexander can earn money for the cans he recycles." What we change is the number of cans recycled right? Because as a result of a CHANGE in the number of cans, there will be a difference in the money earned which is what we're measuring. Thus, we are changing the number of cans ( independent variable) and we are measuring the amount of money he is earning for the number of cans he recycles (dependent variable).
