Image of figure?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Can you see that if you ADD (5x + 15) + 30 = 90 (since it is a right angle and right angles = 90 degrees) Therefore 5x + 15 + 30 = 90 Now what does 15 + 30 equal to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15+30=45

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

That's correct so then 5x + 15 + 30 = 90 5x + 45 = 90 Now subtract 45 from both sides. 5x + 45 - 45 = 90 - 45 5x = 90 - 45 (since + 45 - 45 cancels out) Now what does 90 - 45 equal to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

90-45=45

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

yeep :) So then 5x = 90 - 45 5x = 45 Therefore since we have "5x" but we want to find the value of ONE x. We need to divide both sides by 5. 5x/5 = 45/5 x = 45/5 =? 45/5 can be simplified to what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/9 right?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

not quite :) x = 45/5 This means x = 45 divided by 5. 45 divided by 5 equals to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

that's right :) So x = 45/5 x = 9 and you're finisheeeed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O WOAH WOW THANKS SO MUCH!!!

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

haha you're welcomeeee :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could u help with more?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

suree

OpenStudy (anonymous):
