Hi everyone! Can someone help me learn how to take these graphs I posted and write piecewise functions? Thanks! :o)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Sure, post them right away.

can anyone start by explaining the answer I posted?

@Kainui

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi kainui! i'm slowly figuring it out using y2-y1/x2-x1 and point slope form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x

OpenStudy (kainui):

Yeah it's not really very specific here, which isn't a big deal if all you care about is integrating these, since whether one point is included as f(1)=0 or f(1)=1 it is only one infinitesimally small point that doesn't contribute to the area. The way you're doing it seems fine with point slope form, I don't know if I really explained what you wanted.
