Well just as they say...you take either of the original equations \[\large 4x - 7y = 28\] or \[\large 6x - 5y = 31\] And plug in y = -2 that they found So lets take the first equation \[\large 4x - 7y = 28\] If we know that y = -2 we have \[\large 4x - 7(-2) = 28\] \[\large 4x + 14 = 28\] What does x = ?
