the midpoint uses a formula... but a short cut method is to average the x values and average the y values so in the 1st question the points are (3,2) and (5, 4) what is the average of the x values.. what is the average of the y values in these points..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I find the average?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

add the 2 x values and deivde the answer by 2... same for the y values

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

oops should read divide the answer by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 and 3? @campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that's correct... so the 1st midpoint is (4, 3)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

question 9 is the same process question 10... find the slope of each line segment... and the see if there are any pairs that multiply to -1... that means they are perpendicular.

So am I right on all of them?
