What would you have to change or "alter" in a Major scale to make it a MINOR scale? A. Lower the 3rd step of the scale by a 1/2 step B. Lower the 3rd and 5th steps of the scale by a 1/2 step C. Lower the 5th step of the scale by a 1/2 step

you lower the 3rd step by a 1/2 step to make a minor scale. Or at least thats what I think. I don't remember everything my band director said about it. :D
A) You lower the third a half step. You don't really do anything with the fifth unless you wanna make a weird tritone sound in the scale. That'd be really dissonant!
