because the equation of the circle is (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2 where h and k is the center, but since the equation you have is x^2+y^2 = 48 we have (0,0) as the center.. as for radius you need the square root of 48

yeah so you have 4 sqrt(3) as the answer... to check just take 4sqrt(3) to the second power..
