what is the wavelength of a microwave oven operation at a frequency of 2.45X10 to the power of 9 Hz (2.45 GHz)??

OpenStudy (fretje):

microwaves are electromagnetic waves, assuming speed equal to that of light in vacuum, c=299792458m/s the frequency/wavelength relation is \[\lambda = \frac{ v }{ f } = \frac{ c }{ f }\] working out gives \[\lambda = 0.12236 meter\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (fretje):

there could be a small difference, for the waves who are in the air instead of vacuum, but generally one can use light speed of vacuum for air.
