How can i Subtract 7% From a Number? example please?

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

100% represent 1.00 so what is 7% in 1.00?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.07 % ?

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

Wait! :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes?

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

I think I misread the question

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

We are trying to find 7% of a number and then subtracting it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just wanted to know how i would take out 7% of a number. For example, 7% out of $100

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

just do 0.07 x 100

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

or per say if you were to run into a number like 387 do 0.07 x 387

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh so i would have 27.09 left over from 387?

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

yes 7% of 387 would be 27.09

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

so if you were to subtract 7% from 387 you would subtract 27.09 from 387

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you (: I understand perfectly now!

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

No problem ! :)
