Check my answer? Quickly please. A package of modeling clay was shaped like a cone with a radius of 24 cm and a height of 6 cm. Miriam used all the clay to make a cylinder with a radius of 16 cm. What was the height of the cylinder? Use 3.14 to approximate pi, and express your final answer in tenths. ____ cm I think 3000 or 32555.52
how did you solve this?
I got the answers didn't I? :\ I can't really choose between the two, so all i really wanna know is which one is correct. If you can't do this I'll try asking someone who can This math I'm working on isn't easy.
Does it make sense that the height would be 3000 cm? look at the numbers used in the question
I got an answer
I'll just go with 32555.52 then.
lol, that's not my point. Doesn't 3000 cm seem way too big to be a reasonable answer
Other than that I guess 4.5? Doubt it though
So what i did was find the total surface area of the cone
\[\pi r(r+\sqrt{h ^{2}+r ^{2}})\]
use that formula to find the surface area
of the cone
r is the radius: 24 cm. and h is the height: 6 cm
I just wanna know if I'm correct on my answers, if not just say so please.
you're not right
Okay, thanks. I'm gonna go over on what I worked on
Do you want me to show you how i got my answer?
20.6 cm
