OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are there any other subsitutions I can use to become an Ambi instead of an ID or birthcertificate?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

You do need an ID, but only the admins see it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thanks!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Yes, there are!

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

It can be any card (drivers license, school card) as long as it has your birthdate.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you do not have an id, and you go to an online school. Then you can submit a picture of your report card. :)

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

As long as it has your birthdate. :P

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Not really your birthday. As long as they can see that you are a real person, and they can guess what your age is on average so that way they know you are 13+

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

They can guess what your age is based on your grade :P

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Eric once mentioned that though :/

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And supposedly that is titled "How to become ambi" @Compassionate style I don't know if he actually wrote that x'D

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I think it was based off of Thomaster's, and Comp tweaked it XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I'm in 8th grade. Where such is an online school?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

An online school is where everything is online, books, homework, almost everything .-.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

There are a ton of online schools and a lot of os users are online school people

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have an exapmle?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

FLVS CA

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Connections Academy, FLVS...a lot

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

But you can still send in a picture of your report card. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Thanks!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @e.mccormick Alternate IDs include official school documents that prove grade. Pretty much everyone in 8th+ is 13 or more. The goal is to have reasonable evidence to show that you are not under 13... since that is a $16,000 COPPA violation. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Yes. That is taken from me. Thomaster made one about Moderators after me.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Oh ok! :)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Told ya, Comp is a leader. He is a senpai (:

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

If you haven't already applied, don't. You only have 14 days studied, and to be considered you have to have at least 90.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Well he is a Brainly mod, must give him some points mhmm ;)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Yes, but stay on this site more longer so they know you're dedicated to OS. Apply for the next batch not this coming one. By then you'll have a higher SS, and you'll have more days studied :)

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Ya, I don't think being a brainly mod counts on OS. I thought it was 100 days studied.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

It’s 90 days studied because that is approximately 3 months. :)

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Ah. Thanks. I've been telling people who ask me it's 100 days studied.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Actually Eric told me otherwise...he didn't say it has to be 90 days studied. I'll see if I can pull it up. May take a while to.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

We basically look at each applicant in several ways. 1) We look at ALL of the warn/suspend history but focus on the last 6 months. Known trolls that are trying to reform are probably looking at a year of clean records to make it in. People with some warnings and perhaps a suspend inside 6 months, but not several, may still be taken in. We also evaluate the type of suspension and actual reasons for it. For example, community ones for people false reporting when you bring up the rules are not held against you. 2) We look at profile stats. Is the SS going up or has it been flat? A flat SS has delayed a few applicants until the next round. Are asked and or answered numbers decent for the time on site or are they light? Do you ask/answer every week or just now and then? 3) We talk to each other, other mods, and even other ambis about if they have seen you in chat, etc. We want to know what people think about you. 4) We look at the application. Did you try on it or did you just leave some things blank? After this, and anything else we think of (we have checked other things too,) we take a vote. The votes are basically Yes, No, and Unsure. Any one no vote will block an applicant until it can be resolved. All unsure votes will NOT be taken. Mix of unsure and yes may or may not be taken... it comes down to more research on the unsure parts. All yes votes do get taken. Abstention of votes are same as unsure. So is there some time people MUST be on OS? No. We have had long time accounts that got passed over because they went inactive for several months. What we really want is as close to 6 months of recent activity to be able to go over as is possible. 3 months is more like the minimum... and it better be an active 3 months!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

That is beautiful Eric *-*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we still need an ID right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick: So does this mean that a ID is necessary?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Yes, you need an ID

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes, for legal reasons the company needs ID from people before they put them into the program, but they are flexable on the type.
