VNC problem: "Timed out waiting for a response from the host computer" I'm using windows computer. After I installed tightvncserver in raspberry pi last night, it worked with my computer. But now, I always got that response from VNC viewer whenever I tried to connect it to the raspberry pi. I'm totally new with raspberry pi and I keep having problems with it ... any help is appreciated..

OpenStudy (jadzia):

oh nvm.. I figure it out. Another problem, how come when I plug in a flash drive in raspberry pi, it is not showing in the file manager?

OpenStudy (jadzia):

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Check if you have auto mounting set up, and if it is aware of whater file system is on the flash drive.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Oh, and the mount studd does not depend on it being a Rasberry Pi. It depends on what distribution of OS you have installed on it.

OpenStudy (jadzia):

This may sound dumb to you, but I'm not sure how to check if I have the auto mounting setup? Here's how I checked if it is aware of the flashdrive ("luzalen") and i tried mounting it but it doesn't work...

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, what OS do you have on it? What LNUX distro?

OpenStudy (jadzia):

Raspbian...

OpenStudy (jadzia):

I didn't find the 1st link that you posted before when I was looking for a solution.... and it works! at last! thank you so much :) (I already tried the 2nd link this morning)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Kk. Yah, they looked like they dealt with different issues, so one of them should have hit. I am glad it did.
