How are the coordinates of a new point found if the point is reflected through the x-axis? How are the coordinates of a new point found if the point is reflected through the y-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For reflection through x axis, x coordinate stays the same and y changes sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For reflection through y axis, y stays the same and x changes sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A reflection in the x axis is a negative of the Y value (ex. if (3.4) is reflected on x, the new point is (3,-4). A reflection on y is a negative of the x value (ex. if (3,4) is reflected on y, the new point is (-3,4).
