Solve 4d(2d-9) 1) 8d-36d 2) -d 3) -28d^2 4) 8d^2-36d I am beyond confused. I think the answer is 4 because combining like terms you would get the 8. Then multiplying 4 by 9 you would get the 36 but I am not sure. Please help!

rvc (rvc):

try to multiply the terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the like terms

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

You need to distribute 4d to both 2d and -9 so: 4d*2d and -9*4d 8d^2-36d

rvc (rvc):

what is 4d X 2d

rvc (rvc):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the original problem

rvc (rvc):

so answer what is 4 X2 =?

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

the answer is 4 you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hockeychick23 thank you so much for explaining it. So if I multiply the 2d and the 4d I should get 8d^2 then multiple the 4d and the -9 to get -36.

rvc (rvc):

yeah

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

anytime :) and yep thats correct :)
