FOR A MEDAL Explain the connection between transportation and the environmental impacts of urban areas. Include one way that urban areas and urban sprawl lead to pollution from transportation and one way that urban areas can use transportation systems to encourage smart growth.
Post your explanation and I'll proof read it for you. However, think of these issues: road kill, the oil and tar on roads, leaking fluids from vehicles, destruction of an area for building for roads.
The relationships between transport and the environment are multidimensional. Some aspects are unknown and some new findings may lead to drastic changes in environmental policies, as it did in regards of acid rain and chlorofluorocarbons in the 1970s and 1980s. The 1990s were characterized by a realization of global environmental issues, epitomized by the growing concerns between anthropogenic effect and climate change. Transportation also became an important dimension of the concept of sustainability, which is expected to become the prime focus of transport activities in the coming decades, ranging from vehicle emissions to green supply chain management practices. These impending developments require a deep understanding of the reciprocal influence between the physical environment and transport infrastructures and yet this understanding is often lacking. The main factors considered in the physical environment are geographical location, topography, geological structure, climate, hydrology, soil, natural vegetation and animal life.

crap
I'm a teacher and part of the lab I teach involves a paper. You are fooling yourself if you think it is not immediately obvious you did not write the material. It is jus insulting if you think that we, as teachers, won't notice, and even more insulting when you just copy and paste and entire paragraph. No changes; just the entire thing—as if no one will notice that a person who wants help on a website designed for students at the introductory university level and below just wrote publishable quality material.
@braves12 I will give you credit for not trying to claim it was your work as I have had others do.
