According to the ancient Greeks, what does a truly great character do? A) Value one's family over one's country B) Defy the gods when the gods are wrong C) Show the proper courtesy to others D) Make peace with one's enemies to end violence I think it's C but I'm not sure.

i believe it B because As far as I'm aware most Greeks put their city or region before their family in honour terms. And making peace I don't think was part of great characters mindsets. It may however be Calthough these seem like very general statements. Sparta for example wouldn't show much courtesy to the helots etc
