WILL GIVE MEDAL 1. Which of the following represents a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (lemanual):

c i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya im not too sure but im kinda thinking b or c

OpenStudy (welshfella):

functions are either one-to-one or many-to-one that means for a one-to-one there is only one value of y for every value of x many-to-one : there maybe 2 or more values of x for one value of y but a one-to-many relation is NOT a function for example if you had more than y value of y for one value of x

OpenStudy (welshfella):

for example:- a is not a function because x = -1 maps to 3 and also maps to 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it'd be C then, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not too sure but its probely gonna be b or c but im kinda thinking c

OpenStudy (welshfella):

no its not c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok....

OpenStudy (welshfella):

in c x = 1 maps to 2 and to 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, B?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes B

OpenStudy (welshfella):

thats a one to one function

OpenStudy (welshfella):

note that 3 maps to itself but thats ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you doing a test??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gotta go but good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! and yea, catching up with my missing work. But thank you (:
