The area of a rectangle is x3+3x2+8x+24. If the length is x+ 3, what is the expression for the width?

rishavraj (rishavraj):

\[length \times width = area \] \[width = \frac{ area }{ length }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be that whole equation on the top? and then x +3 on the bottom? I'm confused

rishavraj (rishavraj):

\[width = \frac{ x^3 + 3x^2 + 8x + 24 }{ x + 3 }\]

rishavraj (rishavraj):

@_ashleeey done ????
