The mean is the sum of all the results divided by the number of items in the list

So add up all of the numbers in your list and then divide by the number of numbers in the list

Finding the mean is also finding the average.

To find the mean, you need to add up all the results

3 + 8 + 12 + 8 + 12 + 4 + 6 + 12 = 86

Now divide 86 by the total results which is 10.

86 / 10 = 8.6

8.6 is your answer
