What are "Negative Numbers" and how do you use them? (Give me examples)

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/psychology/images/e/eb/Number_line.gif/revision/latest?cb=20141014003003 this might help. The number line shows you that negative numbers are anywhere under 0, and the further you go down the number line the smaller the number is considered, so -3 would be a bigger number than -20 it's like saying "you get payed 20$" then thats a positive number but if something says "you get payed -20$" you don't get payed anything and you actually owe that amount. i'm sort of bad at explaining things, but that's basically it XD
