Should freedom of speech have limitations? why or why not?
Hi there! This question is more opinion-based, so this site may help: https://www.debate.org/opinions/should-there-be-limits-on-freedom-of-speech
I think there needs to be some sort of limitations. For instance, can a person go into a crowded area and yell " fire " ? Thus causing a panic. No, they can't. The First Amendment doesn’t protect false speech that is likely to cause immediate harm to others. The question in every case is whether the words used are used in such circumstances and are of such a nature as to create a clear and present danger.
People have a right to say what ever they want to say. No one has the right to stop them. You may not like some of the opinions people voice, or the words that they use, but this is absolutely no reason to have the government trample people's natural rights.
