Compare the relationship between the state and the individual in Sparta and Athens

The Spartans exercised totalitarianism. All men were militarized, whether they liked it or not. You were left to die if you were considered physically weak, no matter your mental capacity. Athens, on the other hand, was democratic. People had rights and choices.
