don't you know Pythagorean theorem

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Phytagorean Theorem: \(\sf\Large a^2+b^2=c^2\) |dw:1431227862523:dw|

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

like the colors :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright so this is how far I've come lol. 24^2 + 12^2 = 576+144 = 720

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

you are doing it the wrong way see the figure drawn by @smartscore

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

smartone lol

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

The 24 is the hypotenuse. Not the leg, so no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh yeah!! I forgot!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dang. I forgot this stuff haha we haven't done this in a while.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do I do with the hypotenuse? I know 12^2 = 144. and the x i'm not sure lol.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

\(\sf\Large x + 12^2=24^2\)
