@Nnesha A farmer uses a lever to move a large rock. The force required to move the rock varies inversely with the distance from the pivot point to the point the force is applied. A force of 50 pounds applied to the lever 36 inches from the pivot point of the lever will move the rock. Which function models the relationship between F, the amount of force applied to the lever, and d, the distance of the applied force from the pivot point? A. d=86/F B. d=86/F C. F=1,800/d D. F=d/86
A and B are the same exact answers, which also confuses me.
F varies inversely with the distance so equation would be ? same like last one
instead of y and x it would be F and d, correct?
yes right f =y d = x
so the equation would be \[F=\frac{ k }{ d }\]
yes right :-)
Ok, I'll go try that and will let you know what I get.
sure!
I got C. \[F=\frac{ 1800 }{ d }\]
yep that's the only onemakes sense bec "d" which represent x should be at the denominator !
Thank you so much!! :)
my pleasure!
