I know how to do this one, however, I need to know if I rounded correctly Between July 1, 2000, and July 1, 2007, the estimated population of a city declined from 5360 to 4669. What was the percent decrease to the nearest tenth? (Round to one decimal place as needed.)
The answer comes to .1289179104 and I rounded it to 13%. is that right?
hmm.. I think you're very close but you may have made a few slight errors :) So you want to do 5360 - 4669 = 691 Then we want to see how much that is OF the original amount. So, 691/ 5360 = 0.1289.... But to find it as a percentage, we would need to multiply it by 100. So 0.1289... * 100 = 12.89 % Now if you look at the question, it asks for the nearest tenth (so 1 decimal point)
so is it 12.9%? or just 12.8%
it will be 12.9 % i believe
awesome, thank you for your help!
no problem :)
