A box contains 4 bags of corn chips, 4 bags of potato chips, and 4 bags of pretzels. One bag is chosen at random. What is the probability that it is a bag of potato chips? A. 1/4 B. 1/2 C. 1/12 D. 1/3

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

What are the choices please?

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

I'm guessing 1/3 because there are three possible ones, all equal chances I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first add all of them up which is 12. then there are 4 bags of POTATO CHIPS so you divide 12 with 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/12 = 1/3 because you have to divide them by the grates common factor.

I also agree with sneliS and yasming78

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be D. as your answer
