hard to explain...you have to find 2 numbers when multiplied = 6 and when added = 5.
(x + __) (x + __)

(x + 3)(x + 2) -- use the FOIL method to check
x^2 + 2x + 3x + 6 -- combine like terms
x^2 + 5x + 6
