Javier has a job installing windows. He earns a rate of $75 per day plus $8 per window installed. He also receives a stipend of $25 for snacks. Javier knows his weekly earnings can be shown with the following expression: 75d + 8w + 25 Identify a coefficient, a variable, and a constant in this expression. If Javier works for 5 days and installs 48 windows, how much does he earn? If Javier gets an increase in his stipend and receives $40 for snacks, would the coefficient, variable, or constant in the equation change? Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

coefficient is just a number before the letter (variable) variable is a letter that stands for an unknown number constant is just a number with no letter (variable)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is the coefficient ? what is the constant ? and what is the variable ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

75d + 8w + 25.....works for 5 days and installs 48 windows so we sub in 5 for d and 48 for w 75(5) + 8(48) + 25 = (do the math and you will have your answer)

and for the lat part....he was receiving $25 for snacks.....and it changed to $40.....what is changing ? Is it a variable, constant, or coefficient ??
