Why does Open Study always have bad connection? Or is it just me with the bad connection? Because last time I remembered I had Strong connection and it still fails to load properly...I don't know >.<
It is most likely because of all the updates they are doing...just be grateful you can use your account. I lost my account because it is broken :(
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I just hope all these updates are done xD
OpenStudy will most likely never stop lagging. It's not you, It's OpenStudy.

The admins are trying to removing the bugs and everything. The admins are working hard and for them to make new updates means they have to take the site down for a few minutes. @TypnoEchosis
A while is quite the understatement. It's been like that for years. xD
Oh well I never knew how long exactly has it been like this??
Meanwhile, EclipsedStar has only been on OS for a few months now, yet she claims it has been like this for years....
@EclipsedStar You haven't even been on here for 6 months.. xD
Years...
Anyways, the cause of the bad connection: Way too many users online at the same time that the system can handle.
@igreen I have seen the old posts.
The servers crash?
Yes.
Screenshots don't show bad connection.

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @EclipsedStar A while is quite the understatement. It's been like that for years. xD \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Yea years haha. Its be OS has soo many members so it crashes sometimes.
Lolol x'D ok I got your point. anyways I have seen years old posts about bad connection lol
I don't think the "soooo many users" thing actually changes anything..think about other sites with thousands of users..
Devs need to delete un-used accounts.
@iYuko That would make things worse
Well at least now I know why it lags and crashes...*strolls off*
OpenStudy has millions of users. This all takes space which causes a portion of the lag. I think OpenStudy should delete all the users with a 0 SS.
Green I get your viewpoint but os's servers aren't the best like facebook and youtube.
Become a subscriber and help them make better servers. :)
Hopefully they aren't buying food with my $10.
Actually, for the last several weeks OS has been under an assortment of DDoS attacks... so there is more than usual for them to deal with.
lol xD
What is DDoS?
A crime.
Hackers try to make the website crash
Oh okay...but is it abbreviated for something?
Distributed Denial of Service.
OHHHH...It is all making sense now :D
But who in their right mind would want to hack a study site that's a little backwards <.>
Someone that is probably mad about something
Or someone that has nothing better to do...
Mad over what? Someone didn't answer their question on time?
who knows
Either way they wasting time...
They see it as a hobby. They think it's fun and don't understand that their doing....Crime
Well, a user made some poorly chosen, sex related comments in chat. They were suspended. Not long after that, there were threats made in chat that if that account was not reinstated and given immunity form moderation, the site would be taken down, destroyed, etc. There has also been, for over a year now, a hacker group that formed because they did not like OS moderation and they think that free speech means they can say whatever they want on OS. It is kind of like people that come over for a BBQ deciding that because you invited them to your place they can do anything they want to your house. So while they start digging a pit in the yard and then get irritated when you call the cops. Logically it does not make sense, but it has happened here on OS.
The Site and the Service may be temporarily unavailable from time to time for maintenance or other reasons. http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions
We are in the same boat :P
What? I thought we had different boats. The only difference is that one doesn't have a hole.
