OpenStudy (jokersmart):

Which container holds the most? A. cylinder with radius 8 in. and height 10 in. B. sphere with radius 7 in. C. cone with radius 10 in. and height 20 in. I think C.

OpenStudy (vianne):

I think C too..

OpenStudy (perl):

did you try to find the volumes of each shape

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

yeah

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

I just wanna know if my answer is correct

OpenStudy (perl):

you guys dont have to guess

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

so I can review what I've done

OpenStudy (vianne):

Area of a circle = πr squared so 3.14 x 64 = 200.97 multiplied by 10 gives you 2009.7 inches cubed. 1436.03 cubed inches. Formula for the volume of a cone: 1/3 x area of base x height Circle base = 314 inches. Volume of cone = 2093.34 cubed inches The answer = the cone aka C.

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

Um.. who said I guessed?

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

Yeah, so C.

OpenStudy (vianne):

Nobody, Perl probably suspected. :3

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

Ahh D;

OpenStudy (jokersmart):

Well thank you ^_^

OpenStudy (vianne):

No problem I guess. lolz
