HELP!! MEDAL!! Suppose you find a rug to put under your table. You measure the rug with quarter-inch accuracy and find the dimensions to be 49.25 inches by 69.75 inches. Calculate the area of the rug, without rounding to the correct number of significant figures.

OpenStudy (perl):

What does this say here "Calculate the area of the rug, without rounding to the correct number `if significant figures.`"

OpenStudy (perl):

can you check you copied that correctly

OpenStudy (perl):

oh that should say 'without rounding to the correct number `of` significant figures'

OpenStudy (clamin):

im sorry its 'of'

OpenStudy (clamin):

@perl

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the measurements have 4 significant figures...... when you multiply the 2 numbers each with 2 decimal places... then answer will contain 4 decimal places... so I'd expect that the accracy would need to be 4 decimal places...
