1. Write your Basic Thesis Statement in the space below. The two authors Muir and William have expressed their relationship with nature by using diction, tone, and syntax. 2. Go through the Thesis Statement Essentials Checklist. It is OK if you are not able to check off some of these characteristics. Is your thesis statement one sentence? Yes. Does it answer the question? Yes. Does it use specific words? Yes Does it take a stand? Could someone have a different interpretation? No Does it introduce a comparison or contrast? No Does it answer “Why does this matter?” or “So what?” No
Based on the checklist above, revise your thesis statement so that it has all of the above qualities and include it here.

What course is this for?

Okay, so you need your thesis statement to include these? : Does it take a stand? Could someone have a different interpretation? No Does it introduce a comparison or contrast? No Does it answer “Why does this matter?” or “So what?” No
Well i need it to include Is your thesis statement one sentence? yes Does it answer the question? yes Does it use specific words? yes Does it take a stand? Could someone have a different interpretation? no Does it introduce a comparison or contrast? no Does it answer “Why does this matter? no That but what says "yes" next to it i believe is already there.
I just finished this class. And aced it with a 99% as my ending grade. Just revise your statement so that it does everything they ask for. I even made mine two sentences. I can't make your new statement FOR you, but just work your hardest to fit everything they ask for into the beginning of your essay. Think of comparing how one is a poem one is an essay. Think outside the box. I hated this essay, completely, but it was actually fun by the end.
And, if you need any other help on these assignments, you can PM me.
@leahhhmorgannn I dont know how to get everything together. Normally I'm good at this but i keep having brain farts. Do you mind like helping me out on how to add the things
@vera_ewing
In any basic thesis statement, you need to address both the claim AND the counterclaim in one sentence. This will come back up on your final exam, too. First, fit those both into there. Then you've conquered the "can someone take a different stand" part.
@leahhhmorgannn can i show you what i have and you help me edit it if it need to be?
Go for it. Just remember I cannot tell you exactly how to edit it or do it for you, as that would be me doing your work.
