Please Help. What is a transformation? What are the different types of transformations? What is a tessellation? Why did we have to make a tessellation? What does it have to do with transformations?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

paraphrased basically a transformation is a movement from one location to another main types glide-- just a shift -- so many units east or west as in left or right and so many units up or down plus or minus respectively reflection across y axis like looking in a mirror x go to -x, y stays the same reflection across x-axis like looking in a river y go to -y and x stays the same rotation -turn forming an angle go so many degrees clockwise or anticlockwise each original point will move through the same angle to get to the new location can be about a point or about a line dilation reduce or enlarge change size by a certain factor each side of the figure will change by the same factor

I got this one from the internet (cannot remember everything) What are tessellations? Basically, a tessellation is a way to tile a floor (that goes on forever) with shapes so that there is no overlapping and no gaps.
