So I have a question, First let me say that my username is miss leading and that I don't read the bible or know much about religion, and I don't want to offend anyone by asking this. But what do Christians or other religious people think about homosexuality? Or what do you think your god thinks about it?
God designed marrige to be between a man and a woman. Thats one of things that EVERYBODY* hates on Christians about. God also teaches us to love our neighbors, meaning EVERYONE. Christians arent for homosexuality but we can love a homosexual. (as in a friendship/family love) So to sum it all up, we arent for homosexuality but we are taught to love everyone (including them) so therefore we can maintain a relationship(family/frienship) with them but we dont have to agree with what they are doing. *Everyone meaning liberals and people that are for homosexuality.
*marriage
Generally our culture has become obsessed with sex, its this obsession that has polluted our society. If all one wants is a sexually climax then the means makes no difference, bestiality, homosexual, rape, or mutual sexual relations just for the pleasure. Love means a tender attachment and our society has lost the meaning, because with it comes magical things like telepathy and other amazing things. Christ interpretation of the commandments is Love God with all your heart, soul, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself. This implies two types of Love because one you give all to the Father and the other to mankind, and sometimes the Father may attach you to others having a loving communion. This sense of love is being lost in our age of the gentile groping in a foreign world seeking what they can for just themselves, leaving behind devastation in there wake for others to clean up. A saying came about in the 80's and signs appeared, "pellet Happens" and I abhored it then as I do now. It implies no responsibility and no one cleaning it up, as a man who doesn't even bothers to wipe his own retrice
@KenLJW Straight couples have sex too.
As I said mutual sexual relations just for the pleasure and not part of a bonding relationship. I told my niece in the mid 90's that I thought married homosexual couples might be ok because I thought the relationship would work. But in further thinking I realized that even heterosexual marriages end in divorce, about 50%, therefore how much better will they. For a relationship to really work it has to be based on something other than sex but in our culture today one just seeks immediate satisfaction not allowing for a non sexual relationship to grow. The acceptance of one night stands within the heterosexual community today is historically what was done in the general homosexual community and frankly I not much for that either. There's a word inbred which is defined as ingrained in one's nature as deeply as if by heredity which is what used to be done in religion to counteract all sorts of natural behavior.
As quoted in Leviticus 18:22, God calls homosexuality an abomination. This is the closest thing to hate God can get. Mind you, he does not hate the PERSON, rather the sin itself. Quite honestly I don't believe there'd be a single person on the planet that God would hate. He's a loving, living God, who loves us so much that he gave his only son for our salvation. Does that mean homosexuality will be forgiven just as easily? Well...It's not our job to answer that and judge others.
In life we have to come to some judgement about out previous and present behovious if one is going to advance from any position. If no judgements are made all one does is coast, always staying out of trouble or eventually getting caught forcing us to confront our issues. Some things people may have to stay away from as Christ said "if a member offend thee cut it off, if a eye offend thee pluck it out". Its meanig is sometime not understood as when you commune with someone and it effects you negatively remove them. Remember there may be things that only God the Father and Christ can stand up to, while we may just be able to use scripturs as a guide. Well anyway everyone must make judgements as to right and wrong but condemnation is for my Lords. Remember Christ himself said "go and sin no more" which implies he had expectation, if their not you may end up like the fig tree he cursed.
I don't think God approves of it. Because he intended marriage to be between man and woman (Adam and Eve) and at Leviticus 18:22 it says "You must not lie down with a male in the same way that you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable act." and at 1 Corinthians 6:18 its states " Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man may commit is outside his body, but whoever practices sexual immorality is sinning against his own body." Also Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are plainly seen, and they are sexual immorality, uncleanness, brazen conduct, 20 idolatry, spiritism, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, divisions, sects, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these. I am forewarning you about these things, the same way I already warned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom. And the last scripture I will bring out is at Colossians 3:5 which says Deaden, therefore, your body members that are on the earth as respects sexual immorality, uncleanness, uncontrolled sexual passion, hurtful desire, and greediness, which is idolatry. Although God does not approve of such acts, it does not give the right to be rude or disrespectful to a homosexual as 1 Peter 2:17 says "Honor men of all sorts, have love for the whole association of brothers, be in fear of God, honor the king."
i think no God would harm you for something he made in yourself .
There are many things natural in man that even man is against and this is why my understanding of scriptures is man is to be more than biological, animal. The original sin is mans origins of animal which must be cast off if he is to truely progress. The presenst concept of its all right because God made us that way is in error, God wants man to be more than from is orgins and progress towards Him, this truely is mans purpose.
i dont see toblerone or jesus....
aaaannnnndddd i know im gonna get a crapton of hate for this, but being "gay" is not "natural"......
Comparing humans...to animals....yeaaaaa ok....society is at an all time low if they're willing to justify their homosexual desires by showing that its in animals too...we are h00mans, we are int3llig3nt b3ings....act like it....
Psychatry once consider homosexuality a mental disoder but in 1955 it was changed to a normal deviation. I'm not entirely sure how they came to that conclusion but basically I think it was supposed to part of that individual makeup. There are many species in the animal kingdom that practice homosexuality and apparantly man is no different. But as I said in previous posts, according to scriptures man is to be more than biological, animal, but man trying to understand its own existence has to analyze what's exist and try to come to terms with it. The religious persective is to follow scriptures and wait for the day when God the Father conquers with spirit and not by power and might as governments does.
@TobleroneJesus http://www.narth.org/docs/animalmyth.html We are "animals" in a sense of having a body, heart, lungs, and other organs. We are above animals in a sense that we are intelligent, we have common sense.....well...most of us do. Homosexuality is not natural, I can find more proof and more recent statistics if you like.
As for intelligence and common sense, these have been used by groups to do the most egregious and horrorable things in the past and present. Intelligence only assist in a person's or group basic thust whether it be predatory or elsewise. To suggest otherwise is to deny all religions which intent is to show man's their sinful nature and turn them in a better direction. Even in your religion this is recognized by the harsh punishment given to those who deviated for your code of being, at least historically. Mankind has defects as well as individuals, the basic question is do you destroy all those that deviate or convert which is the Christian perspective.
