You're giving a speech to your class about the effect of having too much power in the executive branch. Which historical event would be the most useful to include? President Johnson's escalation of the Vietnam War after the Tonkin Gulf Incident President Eisenhower's insistence on having a US interstate highway system Congress overriding President Truman's veto of the Taft-Hartley Act President Kennedy's declaration for the United States to put a man on the moon

What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u know the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can't be "Congress overriding President Truman's veto" because the #1 person in the executive branch is the president and this would be a example of how that branch doesn't have to much power. So it cant be C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think it would be b either beacuse the other two sound much more important then building a highway system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Presidents can control almost every aspect of our country if its a nation emergency like President Theodore Roosevelt did in the Great depression in the 1930's.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

President Eisenhower made that plan as a way to get our military around the country faster and make it essayer to defend because the highway is the fastest rout.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b might be possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

President Johnson's escalation of the Vietnam War after the Tonkin Gulf Incident

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it seems like its President Kennedy or President Johnson But B might still may be a possability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

President Johnson makes scene it is the Vietnam war after all allot of stuff was twisted in every ones mind for economic resons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

President Johnson got a Blank Check and practically ran the Vietnam war (with no real hard evidence for starting the war in the first place) The war was also known as Johnson's War

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah shes right the answer was A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was leaning to word that my self

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just working with you to eliminate other answers instead of giving the answer, helps to think and to learn how to solve more problems on your own latter on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
