George Washington was an enormously popular general. Why didn't he try to become a king? He believed in a republican form of government. He knew the army would be hard to control. He thought future monarchs would abuse power. He was afraid he would be assassinated. <--
What do you think @CountryGurl15
D
Hint, by becoming a king he becomes the very thing he fought against.
C?
It's either A or C
Try again
Leaning more towards C tho =)
Hint, President isn't a term used in monarchies.
Damn lots of ppl on this question
Your options so far are a and c
Hint, it's a vowel.
Sooo.. Is it A or C?
lol No C isn't a vowel lol I think it's more C, he did know that future monarchs would abuse power that is what he did not want =)
Which one of those choices is starts with a vowel?
I know that lol but everyones saying a and c
Yes
It is one of those two.
George Washington is unique in history. He is one of the few men who willingly gave up power because of his conviction to republican principals. He took charge of the army based on those beliefs. It would make no sense to him to do anything other than to retire from the army and leave control to the new government.
