A college has 480 students. Each student is numbered 1 through 480. A sample of 25 students is needed, so a computer randomly generates 25 numbers from 1 through 480. What kind of sampling method is being used? (Points : 1) convenience sampling simple random sampling systematic sampling volunteer sampling
Which do you think it is?
A
Hm...do you know the definitions of each of these?
Not entirely
Convenience sampling is a non-probability sampling technique where subjects are selected because of their convenient accessibility and proximity to the researcher. a simple random sample is a subset of individuals (a sample) chosen from a larger set (a population). Each individual is chosen randomly and entirely by chance. Systematic sampling is a statistical method involving the selection of elements from an ordered sampling frame. (i couldn't find a clear definition for volunteer sampling but it basically means someone volunteers to do it.) Read your question again and tell me which one you think is correct now.
I think its simple random sampling
I think so too. Out of all of them it's the one that makes the most sense to me. Wish you the best of luck! :]
