Can someone help me please? Application of Rational Equations: I am supposed to come up with a word problem and then proceed to solve said problem, here is my word problem. It takes Ron 2 hours to clean his room (1/2). It takes Ron's brother 3 hours to clean his room (1/3). How many hours will it take Ron and his brother to clean a room if they work together? 1/2+1/3=1/x (1/2)*3x/3x=(3x/6x) (1/3)*2x/2x=(2x/6x) (1/x)*6/6=6/6x Since the Denominators are the same they cancel out and leave me with 3x+2x=6 Combine like terms 3x+2x=5x 5x=6 Isolate the X 5x/5=6/5 x=6/5 or 1and1/5 Is this correct?
