\[-\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x+\frac{ 1 }{ 5 }y=3\] \[2x+\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }y=-\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }\] I need to solve for X AND Y @TheSmartOne

OpenStudy (mathmate):

A secret to solving system of equations with fractional coefficients is to multiply each equation by the common denominator. The common denominator of the first equation is 10, and the second is 3. For example, \(10(-x/2 + y/5 =3) \ becomes \ -5x+2y=30\)

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Then you would end up with two equations with integer coefficients, which are much easier to solve.
