The telegraph, the telephone, the electric light, the Maxim machine gun, Morphine, infectious disease control, pasteurization, the theory of Evolution and so much more. The 19th was a violent era in Europe and the Americas,The answer is C., wars and conflict, shaped the inventions of the time. It was also a time of enlightenment, where there was advanced education available to those who could afford it. This advancement in education led to people questioning the status quo, many nations were monarchies and if they were democratic, it only existed for the rich, landowners and the gentry males. The poor, working class, women, slaves, former slaves and Native peoples were not able to participate in the democratic process. This inequality led to the rise of certain ideas, such as a "peoples revolution", Karl Marx (who was of the gentry class) wrote Das Kapital and The Communist Manifesto.
