Correct on 1 Correct on 2 Correct on 3 Correct on 4, I think (Longfellow died in the late 1800s, so he probably isn't modern, and I think he preferred hexameter to free verse) Wrong on 5. The way I was taught, the appositive is basically the comma enclosed, long winded form of an adjective.
