Replace n by 1 to 7 Then add them up.. U get the answer :)

OpenStudy (sepeario):

when n=1, the answer is 2. when n=2, the answer is -4. then 3 is 8. then 4 is -16. Find a pattern yet?

OpenStudy (sepeario):

2, -4, 8, -16, 32, -64, 128...

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

\[ \sum_{k=0}^nar^k=\frac{a(r^{n+1})}{r-1} \]

OpenStudy (sepeario):

Holy damn there are so many different variables I can't even.

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

\[\sum_{k=0}^nar^k=\frac{a(r^{n+1})}{r-1}=a+ar+ar^2+ar^3+ar^4+\cdots+ar^n\] a and r are constants.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when n=1,first term a=2 r=-2 \[s=a \frac{ r^n-1 }{ r-1 }\] n=7 s=?
