i suck at geometry and its the last class i need to graduate. some help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks Two dice are thrown simultaneously. Given that sum of the numbers is NOT more than 5, what is the probability that sum is more than 3?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello(: @misty1212

OpenStudy (misty1212):

this really has nothing to do with geometry right? it is probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, its part of some geometry work so thats why i categorized it like that((:

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lets count the possible rolls that are not more than five there are a bunch of them (1,1) (1,2),(2,1) (1,3) ,(3,1),(2,2) (1,4),(4,1),(2,3),(3,2)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i count ten right?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

of those ten possible rolls, the bottom 7 are greater than 3 that makes your answer \[\frac{7}{10}=0.7=70\%\]

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Well, more than 3. Not 3 or more.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

So 40%.
