Forensic Science Questions. Why do you think crime scenes involving homemade bombs have increased? Why do you think the procedures are different from normal crime scenes to those involving fire and explosions? What benefits or challenges are there because of these different procedures?
@thatonegirl97 Can you help?
Can you help please?

Hm...
I'm not sure but for the first question, maybe more people are making homemade bombs or because they can't buy any? (Sorry I'm terrible at this) And for the second question, maybe because they need to be careful to not cause any more damage or fires etc. And for the third, I imagine there would be the challenge of finding out who did it since the evidence might have been blown up and they would have to be careful not to hurt themselves. This probably didn't help a lot sorry :(
Improvised explosives have become increasingly common due to the ease in raw material acquisition, manufacture, distribution, and concealment. Anyone can slap fireworks' combustible powder into a pressure cooker and leave it in someone's backpack or car (reference to the Boston marathon bombing). Procedures have to stray from standard operations since explosive manufactures acquire information and supply on potential combustible combinations via online or in-store. The main concern for forensic scientists on the bomb analysis team is trace-ability. Dyes, pharmaceuticals, metal appliance, electronics (note: old nokia cellphones were commonly utilized as detonators), paints, petroleum products, flammable primers, adhesives, and other polymers, the forensic investigators of the federal bureau must be able to chemically dissect, analyze, and correlate these materials. The benefit of "thinking outside the box" allows forensics to trace the perpetrator's habits and past actions, hence progressing their capture, providing adequate evidence during trial (as was the case for one of the Boston marathon bombers, i.e. the good looking one--or so people say), and most importantly, to predict and prevent any future domestic guerrilla bombing.
