Which explains why the Compromise of 1850 intensified the argument about slavery? People for and against slavery migrated to Western states to influence laws. Free states in the West added more antislavery votes to Congress. The equal division of slave and free territories displeased people on both sides. The Fugitive Slave Act led to a migration of abolitionists to the South. Im totally unsure of this answer; C
